Arrived!

Hey peeps,

So as I like to share my experiences with you on my travels, this one is no exception!

After a tedious and unexpected check in issues at the airport, for which they charged me £40 for checking my baggage.....I will dwell on this no more!!

The flight was pretty full, as it was only an hour, I decided to get some shut eye!

On arrival at Cologne, my friend met me and we took to exploring the city.

As my first trip to Cologne, I will say that I was pleasantly surprise, on first impressions its very cosmopolitan , the. usual shops, be it high street or high end is available.

We went to a local tourist hot spot the Dom- a cathedral that is over thousands of years old!

I am not a church chic, but the architecture was AMAZING!.

We then headed to ERPLIR LIY, as it was the top of the hill we overlooked the river Rheine, it was AWESOME! ( See picture attached )

Having explored Cologne and then Bonn, we headed to the cabin in the forest, my home for the next few days !

It was like stepping into a time warp.....

I was struck by the sheer munificence, of the view, tranquillity and the quietness.(See image attached )

I saw my first live young deer not enclosed in a zoo, the constant chirping of birds and the array of noise that filtered through in the forest evening as part of the ambience was relaxing to say the least.

Needless to say I slept like a baby.

I awoke feeling refreshed and after a hearty german breakfast, its time to head out!

Day 5

Good morning all,

This morning is the only time I will be able to be good this weekend :(

The reason for this is I am travelling and doing a diet while travelling is not conducive, so for the next 4 days I am just gonna chill.

My daily intake for day 4 was pretty good, I am getting the hang of this

1 glass of diluted fruit juice
2 x slices of toast with a scrape of butter
1x small probiotic drink
1x weetabix
1 x slim fast shake
3 x raison slices biscuits
Salad with peppered mackerel
Chicken with tomato and basil with pasta
Crystalized ginger

This morning I had toast and diluted juice :)

Christmas 2011 Travel

Hey there peeps,

Each year I try to make one big trip that will blow most peoples mind away.

I am extremely blessed that I have an amazing friend that I can travel with, as the exotic places that I visit isn't always in the normal Joe blogs price range.

My travel buddy his partner and I have been travelling for years, so much that his partner and I have struck up a friendship which is entertaining  as she is a funny chic, with a heart of goal.

So where do you go if you want to make a big statement of all the places in the world?

In my opinion  the following are the top rated destinations for me.... other people's might differ....

Japan
Hong Kong
Australia
Cuba
Brazil
New Zealand
Africa

My wish list still need to be updated, but this December I will be heading to CUBA !!!!!!

Having done Brazil, and with plans to do Africa next year, I thought Cuba will be amazing for Christmas and New year.

Of course I will keep you all updated...... so watch this space

Day 4

Morning people!

Its official, I love my bed.... Let's make no mistake about this, even without this diet making me tired, therefore making me want to sleep more.... There has always been a healthy relation with my bed and I, it has been more pronounced :)

My daily intake for yesterday was slightly different

1 x weetabix
2 x slices of toast with a scrape of butter
1x banana
1 x slim fast shake
3 x raison slices biscuits
Salad with peppered mackerel
3 x spoonful mac and cheese
3 x raison slices biscuits
Pear and green tea
Crystalized ginger

I weighed myself this morning and was pleasantly surprised.

On sunday I weighed 121.2Kg
This morning I am 115kg so there has been some movement a lot more than I thought!

So day 4 I am coming as I know come day 5 all this will be lost as I will be away and it will be a struggle, but I need to be focused :)

Day 3

Good morning all,

My body hates me.....

Oh my goodness, it talks to me it secretes smells and I feel tired all the time.

I find that as I am busy at work, I tend not to notice how hungry I am until I am travelling home.......

Then its on, my stomach growls on the bus in full stereo with baseline :)

So another trick I am learning is that I need sugar is to have 1 biscuit late afternoon that kinda helps me through the afternoon.

Below is my food intake for day 2

1 x weetabix
2 x slices of toast with a scrape of butter
1x banana
1 x slim fast shake
3 x rice cakes
1 x custard cream
1 x salmon with small portion of mac and cheese and salad
3 x raison slices
2 x slices of toast with a scrape of butter
1x pear and green tea
Crystalized ginger

Today day 3 will be a hard day as my body is fighting back, if I can get through today I know I can do this :)

My Next Trip .......

Good morning all,

So many of you have been wondering where will my next trip take me after my brief visit to Ireland.

Well I can reveal that this weekend I will be taking a brief trip to Germany to see my very good friend and Nail Queen Extraordiaire for a few days .

This will be my first trip to Germany, I have been told that there is a huge festival there, but also that I have a cabin in the forest where mother nature is in full effect.

I am slightly concerned aboutt my food intake as I have just started a diet this morning and Germany is renowned for all its scrumptious food :)

I am indeed looking forward to seeing the sights.

I will keep you all posted on my adventures as well as share any images .......

Day 2

Good morning all,

I survived the first day!

It was a struggle as by the end of the day I was tired and my stomach wouldn't stop talking to me!!!!

My daily calorie intake has been cut in half from around 2000 to about 1000.

Below is what I had yesterday

1 x weetabix
1x apple
1x pear
1 x slim fast shake
1x banana
Steam cabbage with chicken
3 x raison slices
Crystalized ginger

My main meal at the end of the day was cabbage and chicken.......bwey that tasted so good :)

If you are joining me, I have discovered a trick from the health shop.......crystalized ginger with lots of water will help throughout the day !

Day 1

So my mind set to start this is half way there!

I woke up and blended my shake to take to work.

I had one weetabix with milk (lactose free) followed by vitamins and plenty of ice water.

Thirst is a killer for me as I am always thirsty :(

I am expecting headaches so will need to find a way to manage over the course of the day!

Moral support

Good morning all,

So over the next few weeks, I am going to be there for my girl to offer moral support , by following a strict diet with her.

It means drinking 2 shakes, 2 fruits, I main evening meal and lots of water and tea every day!

For all that knows me, dieting is something I don't do as I have a weakness for food, especially chicken..... I am not trying to kid anyone, its just the way it is......

So the next few weeks will be challenging.

On the other hand, if you know me, you will also know that once I make a decision my will power to follow it through is second to none:)

So I will be giving regular / daily up dates on how I feel and what I am eating and weekly weigh ins.

My friend has to do it for 4 weeks, however as its such a drastic drop in calorie intake for me, I am unsure if I can last the 4 weeks so I will try for 2 and see how it goes.

Phone hacking

Good morning all,

So London is currently dominated with the story that a UK tabloid has been hacking into phones of celebrities and now the ordinary members of the public and their families who died as part of the July bombings in london.

It has all the makings of a soap opera with government, police and celebrities involved.

What is even more eye opening is that it all came to light from a missing girl Milly Dowler, whose messages may have been altered and listened to while her family was frantically waiting to hear news about her disappearance.

The outrage that this has created is justified as I am appalled as to how callous the human race can be......

It makes you wonder with all the big brother fish bowl that we live in, what else are people capable of doing.

I am under no illusion that we are monitored and listened to everyday as we go about our daily living.

My thoughts turned humours when it came to me what if this scandal had taken place by officials in Jamaica to a no nonsense jamaican family.......lol for those in the know, this would take a very different turn.

Diabetes cure??

Good morning all,

As most of you know I am a type 2 diabetes suffer, so I was glued to my TV with the news last night, that there is a possible cure.

I have know for a while that there is a cure, it just needed to be recognised by the property medical authority and given that kudos that is needed.

Virgin travel

Good morning all,

Why oh why are Virgin pilots trying to make my life a misery and heading down the route of BA.

Seriously I understand that we all should be paid well, and Virgin pilots get paid the best in the industry and as they are in charge of at least 400 lives at anyone time 70000 feet in the air, I fully understand they should be compensated.

However if they start a lot of strike actions, Virgin will soon head down the path of BA and become a "has been" luxury airline.

I for one is already checking out Emirates.

Spring cleaning .....

Hey there peeps,


Its that time of year where you all have to do some spring cleaning not only around the house, but also within yourself and your immediate circle .


You need to make space for the new adventures that life will be throwing at you.


Now this involves getting rid of the hanger- ons around you...... y'all know what I mean , the acquaintances that seems to be in your life with no real purpose, they don't offer you anything substantial  to enhance your life.


In fact you spend so much energy dealing with their ish and negativity that by the time they leave you , you carry their burden which weighs you down and make you feel defeated..... yep those are the ones.... you all can relate to at least one person.


Well guess what its time for them to go!!!


Life is too short, if you already enhance their life and they can't enhance yours apart from bringing you negative and bad aura..... kick their ass to the curb  and start a new day !!!
