hey peeps, I was sent the words below and I wanted to share it with you all! Its worth a good read and maybe putting into practice ! The less you associate with some people, the more your life will improve. Any time you tolerate mediocrity in others, it increases your mediocrity. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking and negative acting people. As you grow, your associates will change. Some of your friends will not want you to go on. They will want you to stay where they are... Friends that don't help you climb will want you to crawl. Your friends will stretch your vision or choke your dream. Those that don't increase you will eventually decrease you. Consider this: Never receive counsel from unproductive people. Never discuss your problems with someone incapable of contributing to the solution, because those who never succeed themselves are always first to tell you how. Not everyone has a right to speak into your life. You are certain to get the worst of the bargain when you exchange ideas with the wrong person. Don't follow anyone who's not going anywhere... With some people you spend an evening: with others you invest it. Be careful where you stop to inquire for directions along the road of life. Wise is the person who fortifies his life with the right friendships. If you run with wolves, you will learn how to howl. But, if you associate with eagles, you will learn how to soar to great heights. "A mirror reflects a man's face, but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses." The simple but true fact of life is that you become like those with whom you closely associate - for the good and the bad. Note: Be not mistaken. This is applicable to family as well as friends. Yes...do love, appreciate and be thankful for your family, for they will always be your family no matter what. Just know that they are human first and though they are family to you, they may be a friend to someone else and will fit somewhere in the criteria above. "In Prosperity Our Friends Know Us. In Adversity We Know Our friends." "Never make someone a priority when you are only an option for them." "If you are going to achieve excellence in big things, you develop the habit in little matters. Excellence is not an exception, it is a prevailing attitude.." Until da next Tyme ! |

Truer Words !!!

Hi there people,
A good friend sent me this message this morning and I wanted to share with you all ....
Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress; lawn mower in his hand, and dish-towel in hers. It was the time for fixing things. A curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep.
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that re-fixing, eating leftovers, renewing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant there would always be more to come.
But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more. Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away....never to return. So... While we have it... Its best we love it... And care for it....And fix it when it's broken..... And heal it when it's sick.
This is true... For marriage.... And old cars.... And children with bad report cards...... Dogs and cats with bad hips....And aging parents..... And grandparents, aunts and uncles and friends. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.
Some things we keep. Like a best friend who moved away or a classmate we grew up with. There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special...... And so, we keep them close in heart and mind and spirit.
I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper', so I'm sending it on so that you may share it with the people you think of in the same way....
Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Until da Next Tyme !

I am back........
ok so I am back in the UK , with all the drama that I had leaving Egypt, as I had to do a mad dash across to the airport prior to my leaving there to get my visa.
See there are some things that they dont tell you, but it good to meet people and it is good to talk.
If it wasnt for Suzanne telling me about my visa , I might not be back in the UK- so was that a good thing or not????
IF YOU EVER TRAVEL TO EGYPT AND REMAIN FOR MORE THAN 28 DAYS YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR VISA !
so I landed on saturday , was back in work on Monday and only now the pressure of travel is catching up with me.
I did try to bring back some sun, but this is the UK and the weather always have to seem gloomy .
I can honsetly say that all I missed was my kids - my cats Diva and JJ, apart from that I have a great trip and met some cool people and the weather was off the chain.
If someone offered me the chance to move there .... i'd be gone in a hot minute ... but hey for now I am back in the UK :)
