Life at 40!

Hey Y'all

Guess what  peeps! I  am 40...

Yep I said it!!

Ok I havent aged overnight, I haven't  dissolved into  dust. I haven't grown horns  and become a recluse ..... I am still me..... The Diva, the Jet-setter, the Travel queen !

Many women feels that as their age increase, their life should stop and they should become withered old women.

But for me I find it liberating, I am at the age where I am like a mature wine.... with age I get better, I can look back at my experiences as well as embrace all the others that is due to come:)

So I am gonna start my journey that life begins at 40, and invite you to join me along the way.

Until da next Tyme!

My Trip To Vegas ..... #1

Hi there all,

I have returned and there is so much to tell you all  that one blog will not be enough, so over the next few days I will fill you in on whats good in Vegas and what to try :)

Preparing for the Trip
  • Ok so Virgin is the only airline that does a half decent service to Vegas non stop
  • Pay the extra £30 to get the extra leg room as trust me it s a 9.5 hour flight and you will appreciate it, unless you can afford to upgrade :)
  • Pack only one case and pack light items that can be matched with other items as you are only allowed 23Kg if you fly economy
  • Las Vegas is not a dressy kinda place, unless you choose to , so it upto you as an individual!
  • Wear something light and layered so you can take off or put on during the flight
Arrival
  • When you arrive - depending on the time of year  - the heat will be the first thing that you experience, so have plenty of water, the airport is prettuy basic so there is no need to dwaddle.
  • Check in yor hotel and head out immedaitley especially if you arrive inthe afternoon.
  • Most hotels on the strip will have you in Awe! so take your time to take it in, dont rush around as with jetlag and the heat you will burn out quickly
  • Head to Dennys on the strip and stock up on food, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner you can get anything you want at Dennys !
Until da next Tyme !

Life Essentials

Hi there peeps,

Yes I am back..... did you all miss me ?????

Well I will be send you all details on my trip last week, but to get you back in the spirit, enjoy the reading .....

The things we need and must have as part of our lives, no matter what. We seek these needs, finding new ways to attain and sustain them in our individual search for understanding, and to be understood.

These essentials are
AIR, FIRE, WATER and EARTH.

These four elements are expressed in your life as your level of
AWARENESS (Air), MOTIVATION (Fire), COMPASSION (Water) and ASSURANCE (Earth), and understanding them supports happiness.

Do you struggle with who you are?
Do you find it hard to know what you want?
Are you worried about what you require to get things done?
Are you wondering what your life is about?

Understand practical ways to use the elements in real life through notes which shed light on the four key issues affecting your life.

question 1 - WHO YOU ARE (Awareness)
question 2 - WHAT YOU WANT (Motivation)
question 3 - WHAT YOU REQUIRE (Compassion)
question 4 - WHAT YOUR LIFE IS ABOUT (Assurance)

Until da next Tyme!

Exercising with High Blood Pressure !

Hey y'all,

When you have high blood pressure, listening to your body is important.
Your top priority is to neutralize the threat of blood pressure before you push yourself toward more dramatic exercise goals. Frequency (number of exercise sessions per week) is more important than intensity.
Here are a few tips to help you get started on the right foot.
  • Talk to your doctor first. Certain exercises can be unsafe for people with hypertension.
  • You should not exercise unless your blood pressure is under control and monitored by a doctor.
  • If you are new to exercise or haven't been active in awhile, start slowly and increase your workout time as you get stronger. A good starting point is 20 minutes of aerobic activity, 3 times per week. Examples include walking, swimming and biking. The best activities to do are the ones you enjoy and will stick with. Eventually, the goal is to work up to 45-60 minutes, 5 times per week. It is also important to let your body warm up and cool down gradually during each exercise session (5-10 minutes each).
  • Work at an intensity that allows you to breathe comfortably and rhythmically throughout all phases of your workout to ensure a safe and comfortable level of exercise.
  • Sensible strength training is safe for people with hypertension. Lift lighter weights and breathe throughout each exercise. Avoid strenuous, max lifts, isometric exercises, and holding your breath, all of which increase your blood pressure.
  • Strength training has not consistently been shown to help lower blood pressure. Thus, it is recommended as just one component of a well-rounded fitness program that also includes aerobic exercise and flexibility training.
  • Some medications (such as beta-blockers) lower both your resting heart rate and your heart rate when working out. Therefore, when exercising, your heart rate will NOT reflect how hard you are actually working. For individuals on beta-blockers (or similar medications), it is NOT recommended that you measure your exercise intensity using a heart rate method. The RPE scale and Talk Test methods are safe and accurate for people with hypertension.

It's never too late to start an active lifestyle. No matter how old you are, how unfit you feel, or how long you've been inactive, research shows that starting a more active lifestyle improves your health. Increasing your overall activity, even in ways you wouldn't think of as exercise, also boasts big benefits!
Until da next tyme!
