Some Useful Travel tips

Hey peeps,

Lets get straight to the point, how many of you plan your holiday and when it comes to packing you take everything but the kitchen sink.... go on be honest.

Trust me I have done it a fair few times, so I thought I would share with you some helpful tips that I find useful. These are things that you know already.

  1. A hard back suitcase is best, trust me !

  2. Pack a week before not the nght before , so there is less chance of you over packing with items that you dont need.
  3. If you travel frequently, then make a list of items - it is sooooo useful

  4. Roll your clothes instead of folding, it frees up more space.
  5. Ladies, pack items that you can mix and match over a few days, as you won't wear everything anyway especially if the weather is hot

  6. Have a well made Sarong, it can be worn as 3 outfits if you work it right!

  7. Pack one decent pair of shoes/ slippers that can be worn with anything

  8. Carry one bag on the plane and dress the part so that you look like a well seasoned stylish traveller
  9. Travelling to a hot country , linen is the way to go and white
  10. Change your currency in the destination that you are heading to, you will recive a much better rate.
  11. Learn a few phrases such as hello , thank you and good morning, in the local language, as they will appreciate it and be more helpful.
  12. Learn to tip
  13. SMILE !

I will post some more soon !

London is changing !

Well I have been back for a few weeks now and London Town is Changing......

Some may say for the better.... I am not so sure, with children killing children, the party scene is no longer the fun thing it used to be, unemployment levels are rising , due to the economic climate... LONDON is no longer fun!!!

We have lost the ability to be the trendsetter of the world, we need to bring that back, how??? I am still working on that one, but if you have ideas let me know.

I am back........

ok so I am back in the UK , with all the drama that I had leaving Egypt, as I had to do a mad dash across to the airport prior to my leaving there to get my visa.

See there are some things that they dont tell you, but it good to meet people and it is good to talk.

If it wasnt for Suzanne telling me about my visa , I might not be back in the UK- so was that a good thing or not????

IF YOU EVER TRAVEL TO EGYPT AND REMAIN FOR MORE THAN 28 DAYS YOU NEED TO RENEW YOUR VISA !

so I landed on saturday , was back in work on Monday and only now the pressure of travel is catching up with me.

I did try to bring back some sun, but this is the UK and the weather always have to seem gloomy .

I can honsetly say that all I missed was my kids - my cats Diva and JJ, apart from that I have a great trip and met some cool people and the weather was off the chain.

If someone offered me the chance to move there .... i'd be gone in a hot minute ... but hey for now I am back in the UK :)

My Last night !

Following my last blog, it finally happend.

My last night arrived.... now I can sit here and be sad and disheartened that I am leaving the most magical place on earth to me, or that I am leaving a cherished and loved one behind......

However I am an optimnist as I always belive that the glass is half full instead of half empty, so with that in mind, I know that I will be back so I am looking forwrad to going home , knowing that Sharm will once again welcome me on my next visit.

I have met some really cool people on this trip and ones that I plan to stay in touch with , as I have discovered that Sharm is a very small place and everybody knows everybody who are in residence here.

So while chilling with my new found friends discussing mundance stories such as nappies, recycling, female issues, and the local taxi drivers it was nice way to end my time in Sharm and totally appropiate, as I felt at home.....

Now I am firm believer that home is where your heart is.... and since 2007 my heart has been in Sharm, so I think that this maybe my future home :)
